JON'S STORY
Senator Jon Husted is a leading, consistent, and conservative voice for Ohio in the U.S. Senate.
Senator Jon Husted is a consistent, proven conservative leader fighting to uphold the values that make Ohio strong. He is driven by a belief that strong families, grounded in hard work, personal responsibility, faith, freedom, and patriotism, are the foundation that make our nation great.
Born into foster care and adopted by loving parents in northwest Ohio, Jon was raised on County Road J in Williams County. His early life experience shaped his deep convictions as a lifelong champion for women, children, and the unborn. Grounded in small-town values and guided by his Christian faith, Jon has always worked tirelessly to protect the most vulnerable among us.
As a father and former athlete, Jon has fought to protect the integrity of women’s sports and the safety of girls in schools. He publicly supported Ohio’s common sense bathroom privacy legislation and voted in favor of the Protect Women’s Sports Act—so that girls can compete on a level playing field and in a safe environment.
Jon has been a national leader in expanding school choice and empowering parents. He helped create and expand options for enrollment, charter schools, and scholarship programs—giving every child the chance to reach their God-given potential. In Washington, he immediately made an impact by building bipartisan support to nationalize school choice. He’s also championed LifeWise Academy, a release-time Bible education program that allows students to receive religious instruction during school hours.
Jon and his wife Tina have also worked to protect young people from online bullying, exploitation, and abuse. They’ve been outspoken about the dangers facing children on social media and have championed efforts to give parents more tools to monitor and protect their kids.
Above all, Jon is a husband to Tina and a father to Alex, Katie, and Kylie. The Husteds became grandparents to Mae in 2023 and are active members of Riverside Church.
